July 27, 2011 – Progressive Music is proud to announce a renewed partnership with Tournament of Bands (TOB) as a sponsor of the TOB All Star Band. The band will appear this Thanksgiving in the 6ABC/Ikea Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“We’re happy to support TOB and the All Star Band,” said Lorry Yednak, Progressive Music Manager.
The band consists of musicians and colorguard members from a nine state region. Believe it or not, there isn’t an audition process for the band. TOB relies on the judgement of band directors and principals to send us performers they find worthy of representing their schools.
“So far, we have not been disappointed. Our membership may, or may not be, the best players in their bands,” noted Tom Beebe, director of the All Star Band. “But, clearly they are the most dedicated, hard working young people we could have ever hoped for.”
Information about becoming part of the band is available on the TOB website at njatob.org
Beebe goes on to say that “it has been nothing but a pleasure meeting and working with these students and their families for the first two years. In 2011 we hope to have the biggest band to date. Thanks to the generous support of Progressive Music and others, the best is yet to come!”
