| | What Does the Economic Stimulus Bill Mean for You and Your School District? It doesn't matter if you agree with President Barack Obama and the 111th Congress on the recent passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the economic stimulus bill). What matters is that your school district will receive federal funds as a result of the bill's passage. As we enter the spring, we also enter school budget time and there is no question the infusion of funds into your school district will play a role in budget decisions. The stimulus funds will be allocated to districts nationwide for Title I programs as well as Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) programs. It is important to note these funds will be allocated IN ADDITION to Fiscal Year 2009 funds your school district already receives. What this means is your school districts will have additional funds at their disposal. Even though these stimulus funds are designated for specific school district programs, your school district may now have extra funds they were planning to use toward Title I and IDEA available. These funds potentially could be used to avert cuts to music and arts programs or to potentially expand music and arts programs. | | Below, we have complied a list of Western Pennsylvania school districts and the ESTIMATES of what each school district will receive. These estimates are provided by the Congressional Research Service and the entire list is avilable at: http://edlabor.house.gov/blog/2009/01/school-districts-will-benefit.shtml This is important information for you as you enter budget season. Please contact us with any questions you may have and please keep us updated on the status of your school budget. | SCHOOL DISTRICT | TITLE I | IDEA | TOTAL | | ALBERT GALLITAN AREA | 1,336,000 | 989,000 | 2,325,000 | | ALIQUIPPA | 823,000 | 442,000 | 1,265,000 | | ALLEGHENY VALLEY | 140,000 | 289,000 | 429,000 | | ALLEGHENY-CLARION VALLEY | 152,000 | 219,000 | 370,000 | | AMBRIDGE AREA | 379,000 | 724,000 | 1,104,000 | | APOLLO-RIDGE | 245,000 | 332,000 | 578,000 | | ARMSTRONG | 1,097,000 | 1,503,000 | 2,599,000 | | AVELLA AREA | 58,000 | 155,000 | 213,000 | | AVONWORTH | 235,000 | 288,000 | 523,000 | | BALDWIN-WHITEHALL | 287,000 | 1,014,000 | 1,302,000 | | BEAVER AREA | 103,000 | 408,000 | 511,000 | | BEDFORD AREA | 268,000 | 518,000 | 786,000 | | BELLE VERNON AREA | 326,000 | 619,000 | 944,000 | | BENTWORTH | 128,000 | 273,000 | 401,000 | | BETHEL PARK | - | 1,056,000 | 1,056,000 | | BETHLEHEM-CENTER | 339,000 | 338,000 | 677,000 | | BIG BEAVER FALLS AREA | 471,000 | 492,000 | 963,000 | | BLACKHAWK | 148,000 | 544,000 | 691,000 | | BRENTWOOD BOROUGH | 107,000 | 301,000 | 408,000 | | BROWNSVILLE AREA | 875,000 | 547,000 | 1,421,000 | | BURGETTSTOWN AREA | 158,000 | 337,000 | 495,000 | | BURRELL | 132,000 | 444,000 | 576,000 | | BUTLER AREA | 962,000 | 1,888,000 | 2,850,000 | | CALIFORNIA AREA | 110,000 | 221,000 | 331,000 | | CANON-MCMILLAN | 219,000 | 806,000 | 1,025,000 | | CARLYNTON | 201,000 | 430,000 | 631,000 | | CHARLEROI | 172,000 | 361,000 | 533,000 | | CHARTIERS VALLEY | 213,000 | 705,000 | 918,000 | | CHARTIERS-HOUSTON | 89,000 | 244,000 | 332,000 | | CLAIRTON CITY | 349,000 | 296,000 | 645,000 | | CLARION AREA | 91,000 | 198,000 | 288,000 | | CLARION-LIMESTONE AREA | 108,000 | 215,000 | 322,000 | | CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP AREA | 93,000 | 240,000 | 333,000 | | CONNELLSVILLE AREA | 1,348,000 | 1,404,000 | 2,752,000 | | CORNELL | 124,000 | 199,000 | 323,000 | | DEER LAKES | 138,000 | 451,000 | 589,000 | | DERRY AREA | 291,000 | 595,000 | 886,000 | | DUQUESNE CITY | 664,000 | 333,000 | 997,000 | | EAST ALLEGHENY | 304,000 | 471,000 | 775,000 | | ELIZABETH FORWARD | 231,000 | 596,000 | 828,000 | | FORT CHERRY | 108,000 | 293,000 | 401,000 | | FOX CHAPEL AREA | 285,000 | 1,007,000 | 1,292,000 | | FRANKLIN REGIONAL | - | 704,000 | 704,000 | | FRAZIER | 161,000 | 258,000 | 419,000 | | FREEDOM AREA | 163,000 | 344,000 | 507,000 | | FREEPORT AREA | 143,000 | 392,000 | 535,000 | | GATEWAY | 361,000 | 937,000 | 1,298,000 | | GREATER JOHNSTOWN | 1,276,000 | 946,000 | 2,222,000 | | GREATER LATROBE | 321,000 | 890,000 | 1,211,000 | | GREENSBURG SALEM | 330,000 | 763,000 | 1,093,000 | | HAMPTON TOWNSHIP | - | 643,000 | 643,000 | | HEMPFIELD AREA | 356,000 | 1,290,000 | 1,646,000 | | HIGHLANDS | 414,000 | 676,000 | 1,089,000 | | HOPEWELL AREA | 220,000 | 624,000 | 844,000 | | INDIANA AREA | 274,000 | 656,000 | 930,000 | | KARNS CITY AREA | 196,000 | 390,000 | 585,000 | | KEYSTONE OAKS | 215,000 | 612,000 | 827,000 | | KISKI AREA | 450,000 | 942,000 | 1,392,000 | | MARION CENTER AREA | 373,000 | 422,000 | 795,000 | | MARS AREA | 158,000 | 535,000 | 694,000 | | MCGUFFEY | 189,000 | 502,000 | 691,000 | | MCKEESPORT AREA | 1,556,000 | 1,273,000 | 2,829,000 | | MOON AREA | 185,000 | 720,000 | 904,000 | | MT LEBANON | - | 1,051,000 | 1,051,000 | | NEW BRIGHTON AREA | 251,000 | 427,000 | 678,000 | | NEW CASTLE AREA | 1,644,000 | 1,012,000 | 2,655,000 | | NEW KENSINGTON-ARNOLD | 444,000 | 646,000 | 1,090,000 | | NORTH ALLEGHENY | - | 1,605,000 | 1,605,000 | | NORTHGATE | 193,000 | 377,000 | 570,000 | | NORWIN | 274,000 | 985,000 | 1,259,000 | | PENN HILLS | 867,000 | 1,435,000 | 2,303,000 | | PENNS MANOR AREA | 115,000 | 216,000 | 331,000 | | PENN-TRAFFORD | 172,000 | 868,000 | 1,040,000 | | PETERS TOWNSHIP | - | 689,000 | 689,000 | | PINE-RICHLAND | - | 665,000 | 665,000 | | PITTSBURGH | 17,677,000 | 10,210,000 | 27,887,000 | | PLUM BOROUGH | 232,000 | 874,000 | 1,106,000 | | PUNXSUTAWNEY AREA | 444,000 | 720,000 | 1,164,000 | | PURCHASE LINE | 200,000 | 275,000 | 476,000 | | QUAKER VALLEY | 109,000 | 426,000 | 535,000 | | REDBANK VALLEY | 179,000 | 302,000 | 481,000 | | RICHLAND | 106,000 | 351,000 | 457,000 | | RINGGOLD | 364,000 | 820,000 | 1,184,000 | | RIVERSIDE | 438,000 | 400,000 | 838,000 | | SENECA VALLEY | 421,000 | 1,531,000 | 1,952,000 | | SOUTH ALLEGHENY | 220,000 | 411,000 | 631,000 | | SOUTH BUTLER COUNTY | 214,000 | 659,000 | 873,000 | | SOUTH PARK | 134,000 | 479,000 | 613,000 | | SOUTHMORELAND | 214,000 | 482,000 | 696,000 | | STEEL VALLEY | 410,000 | 581,000 | 991,000 | | STO-ROX | 526,000 | 448,000 | 974,000 | | TRINITY AREA | 260,000 | 784,000 | 1,044,000 | | UNION AREA | 116,000 | 161,000 | 277,000 | | UNIONTOWN AREA | 1,155,000 | 958,000 | 2,113,000 | | UPPER ST.
