Progressive Music to Participate in PSU SummerFest

As the only Penn State campus in Allegheny County, Penn State Greater Allegheny welcomes the community to their first SummerFest. This event will be held on Saturday, July 28th from 10am-8pm at 4000 University Drive, McKeesport, PA 15132.

Penn State Greater Allegheny will host a variety of food and art vendors, local breweries, and local musicians including Season 7 of NBC’s The Voice finalist Chris Jamison. This free and family-friendly event will provide attendees of all ages a day of exciting, creative, and interactive fun throughout our campus.

Progressive Music will provide an instrument petting zoo for children from 1-4 pm.  Students will be able to try out band and orchestra instruments and hopefully be inspired to learn to play.

Prior to the instrument petting zoo, band and orchestra students from McKeesport High School will perform at 12:30 to show off their talents and help to inspire the next generation of music makers.

Penn State Greater Allegheny is a thriving force within the community and a driving resource to the surrounding region. Their mission is to inspire students to be greater by offering a transformative educational experience. They are a catalyst for individual and social change, committed to improving the community and world around us.

The inaugural SummerFest will connect the residents with the visual and performing arts. Penn State Greater Allegheny is dedicated to the City of McKeesport and the Greater Pittsburgh region by providing opportunities that create a safe environment to learn, explore and unite with those invested within the surrounding community.
