Hear From An Olympic Level Music Education Advocate

Earlier this month, Progressive Music’s Director of Market Development, Mark Despotakis interviewed three-time Olympic swimmer, Elizabeth Beisel.

Not only has Beisel been to three Olympic Games representing the United States, she’s won two medals and was a captain of the 2016 team.  While all of that is impressive, she’s also a musician – and one that wants to become an advocate for more kids to have access to music education programs.

Her message will be important for music educators parents and administrators to hear.  But, just as importantly, it will, be important for students to hear! Her success story is a great recruting tool for your program.

In this interview done for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, you’ll learn about Beisel’s swimming career, how a birthday party introduced her to music, her background in music, the athletics vs. music stigma and her message on the importance of music education.

“If I can use my medals as a platform to promote music education and playing instruments, that means more to me than the medals themselves actually mean.” ~ Elizabeth Beisel
