The Joe Campus Band is a 12-piece big band, plus vocalist, formed in 1998 by talented local arranger, trumpeter and Progressive Music sales representative Joe Campus. All of the exciting charts the band plays have been arranged by Campus exclusively for the instrumentation of the band. The band's repertoire concentrates on classic big band swing music and includes many popular numbers performed by the legendary big bands of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller.

Campus has selected a diverse group of very talented Pittsburgh area musicians to perform these arrangements. The band members are an eclectic mix of professional musicians, music educators, business owners, engineers and other professionals who share a deep love of big band and swing music. Since the inception in 1998, the band has played for innumerable functions and venues including swing dances, private parties, wedding receptions, corporate events, fundraisers, festivals and country club events.
