John Fisher
Music Consultant/Sales Representative

John Fisher joined the Progressive Music team in 1998 where he works in the retail showroom and is on the road as a sales representative.

Prior to working at Progressive, John was a band director for 33 years at Thomas Jefferson High School and South Allegheny High School.

John has been a professional drummer for 50 years and he brings his experience from playing as well as teaching to Progressive to help students, parents and teachers fill their music product needs.

Receiving both a Bachelor's and Master's in Music Education from Duquesne University, John continues to teach privately at Progressive as well as South Hills Music.

"I would have to say that having the opportunity to play for many national night club acts has really been a highlight of my career," noted John. "I've played for Wayne Newton, Sonny and Cher, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., The Temptations, The Platters, The Four Aces, The Vogues and many many others."

John's favorite movie is "The Godfather" and says Tom Clancy is his favorite author. John also enjoys bowling.

John is a member of MENC: The National Association for Music Education, PMEA: The Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association and The Pittsburgh Musician's Union.
