Update

I hate that I only update what seems like every few weeks. It's funny because I find myself getting annoyed when I read other blogs and they never seem to be updated.

Anyway - a rundown!

The last few weeks have been band - band - band at Baldwin.

We spent all of last week starting to lay the foundation for this marching season. It's not only the show we have to worry about - but also performing in Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. That's definately some added work.

In addition to my usual tasks on teaching the clarinets and working with all of the woodwinds, my role as assistant band director has forced me to fill in as our marching instructor for the time being.

Admitelly, this isn't my favrorite thing in the world. However, the kids have been great and have progressing very well. It's good that I have someone there with me learning the ropes of teaching marching, so he is gradually getting more involved and allowing me to think about something besides the feet for a little bit.

There is so much more pressure (well, I have probably placed the pressure there) on us this year. We're going to Macy's!!! It doesn't get any bigger than that in my eyes. So much to do this summer.

We're also taking a step toward more performances in the USSBA circuit. We are excited by what they have to offer. And we're even hosting Western PA's first ever USSBA show at Baldwin on October 7th. To sign your band up - go to www.yea.org/ussba - get in on the ground floor of USSBA coming to Western PA. I think it's a great circuit - a phenominal mix between a national and a local circuit. It's worth bringing your band to if only to see what the USSBA is all about.

Ok - moving on from the advertisement...

Was at Cedar Point yesterday - took the band for the day - great weather!!!

Today was Good Neighbor Day here in McKeesport. Progressive Music was happy to participate as always. Great weather and tons of people out which was great!!!!!!!!

That's it for the moment - look for more frequent updates in the near future!!!
